Walking with the dog
Theresa has a dog called Lucky. She takes Lucky for a walk every day to the meadow. Today it is raining, and Theresa does not want to go out, but Lucky is whining and bringing his ball over to her.
Quickly, Theresa is finishing her tea and putting her book down to read later. She’s putting on her Wellington boots and her coat. Lucky is tripping her. Theresa falls over and bangs her knee.
She is rubbing her knee and then putting Lucky’s collar and lead on him. Now she is putting his ball in her pocket and opening the front door. She can’t pick up her keys because Lucky is pulling her out. The door shuts. They are locked out!
Theresa is annoyed but she is taking Lucky on his walk. It is muddy at the meadow. Lucky sees another dog and is very excited. Theresa slips in the mud and drops the lead. Lucky is running off to play.
Lucky sees a man. He’s throwing bread to the ducks. Lucky is running to him and eating all the bread. The man is chasing Lucky angrily but slips and falls into the lake. Theresa is running over and helping the man. Soon she can catch Lucky and put him on his lead.
Theresa says: “You really are ‘lucky’, but everyone who comes near you ends up very ‘unlucky’, indeed!”
