c) Expressing disbelief/ doubt.

Saying that you’re willing (= you’re ready) to give something to the other person or to help them.

- You want to remind an acquaintance about a meeting next Sunday.
Make sure you remember our meeting next Sunday.
In case you’ve forgotten, we have a meeting next Sunday.
- You are a secretary and want to remind your boss about his appointments.
Don’t forget you have a meeting with Human Resources at three o clock.
I’ve made a note on the calendar to remind you about the clients visit, in case you’ve forgotten.
- You are driving with your friend, Mike, to visit someone in another town. Mike thinks you are going to be late. You try to reassure him.
It’s going to be OK. Don’t worry about us being late.
Calm down, we won’t be late.
- Your colleague tells you unofficially that you’ll be getting a pay rise.
Really? That’s great news!
Are you sure? I got one last year.
- You and your colleague have arranged to meet a visitor, but he hasn’t arrived yet.
I hope they are nice; I’m having the worst day already.

- You are at a restaurant with a close friend, and you are discussing the food you have just eaten.

To be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of that food.

Make sure you remember that you are a strong independent woman, and you don’t need a boyfriend to define you.

- You have recently arrived in England working as an au-pair. Your host family asks you about your plans for the future.
