Playing with the toys
Grandma and Luke are out shopping. Luke wants to go into a toy shop. They are going in and Luke starts to pick up all the toys. He picks up a jigsaw, a pack of cards, and a toy dinosaur. The shopkeeper looks cross. Grandma’s friend is coming in with her granddaughter. Grandma is chatting to her friend. Luke picks up a ball and bounces it on the floor.
Grandma: “Luke! Put that ball back. You must not bounce the ball in the shop. Give it to me!”
Grandma takes the ball from Luke. The shopkeeper is not watching them. He is serving another customer. Suddenly, grandma drops the ball. It bounces high, and the shopkeeper is really angry.
Shopkeeper: “Please put the ball back, madam. You must not play with the toys. First you must buy them! Come on, you’re not a child!”
Grandma is very embarrassed, but Luke thinks it is very funny.
