Eating out
It is Friday night at Simon’s flat. He shares the flat with his friend Mike and Mike’s brother, James. All three of them are tired and no one wants to cook dinner.
Simon: “What shall we eat tonight, guys? We have pasta, rice, and some other food. I think it’s Mike’s turn to cook.”
Mike: “Uh, uh. It’s not my turn. It’s your turn, James. I don’t want to cook tonight.”
James: “It’s not my turn. I’m not a good cook, anyway. We want a nice meal? Simon is pretty good. He’s an expert cook.”
Simon: “Oh, no, I hate cooking. Let’s go to my mum’s house, shall we? She can cook for us.”
James: “Your mum’s in Tenerife for two weeks.”
Simon: “Oh yes! I can just make beans on toast, ok?”
James and Mike: “Great!”
Simon: “Oh wait. We’ve got no bread, oh, and no beans either. I can do pasta with pesto.”
James, looking in the cupboard: “There’s no pasta!”
Mike: “How about soup?”
James: “No soup either.”
Simon, putting his coat on: “Come on, let’s just eat out!”
