Charlie loves knights. He also loves sleeping long. He often dreams of being a knight while sleeping and often dreams about being a knight while awake.

(Charlie) be a knight – (he) have some beautiful armour and a speedy horse

wilfully serve his king – (the king) send him into a battle one day

(the king) send him into a battle one day – (he) have a big dinner the previous night

get up late – rush to the battlefield

rush to the battlefield – not find anyone there

not find anyone there – return to his bed, confused

returned to his bed, confused – (a rooster) wake him up 10 minutes later on the morning of the battle

“Wake up, Charlie! It’s time to get ready for school. Get dressed, have breakfast and meet me in the car, will you?” shouts his mom one Monday morning.
